2019 READINGS & APPEARANCES
Portland, Oregon offers many opportunities to meet and listen to national and local poets and writers. During the AWP conference in March, I joined the Finishing Line Press booth to sign copies of my chapbook, and later that evening I was the emcee for the Tupelo Press Offsite.(They graciously included me in the reading).
Monthly, I often join the "Head for the Hills' open-mic reading at the Hillsdale Public Library. Portland is also blessed with many independent libraries. Recently, Tess Gallagher appeared at Annie Blooms in Multnomah Village.
I love this book - and am a much better poet because of the feedback Mark Doty gave me during our workshops at the Tupelo Press Writers Conference in Truchas, NM.
Thank you, Mark!
Born in California in 1945 and acknowledged as one of the most original voices in the contemporary landscape, Kay Ryan is the author of several books of poetry. In "The Best of It" Ryan presents a wonderful
retrospective of her previously published work, as well as new poems
THE WRITING LIFE
I often return to this treasure to find my center and feel inspired.
As a workshop leader at this year's San Miguel Writers Confernce, Dinty Moore was terrific!
(And a fierce karaoke singer!).
Thanks for your wisdom.
