Merna Dyer Skinner is a poet, photographer, and communications consultant, helping people improve how they speak, write and respond to the media.Her business articles have appeared in national business and consumer publications. She is the President and Founder of Satori Communications, Inc.
Her chapbook, A Brief History of Two Aprons, was published by Finishing Line Press (2016). In 2021, Merna's poetry has appeared in The Baltimore Review, Quartet, The Ekphrastic Review, Subjectiv Journal, Sulfer Surrealist Jungle (Featured Poet), and The Front Porch Review.
Forthcoming, Merna's poetry will appear in Caustic Frolic, Cirque, and The Lily Poetry Review. She is currently working on her first full length manuscript.
Merna earned an MA in Communication Studies from Emerson College and is an alum of The Writers Community, Kenyon Review Workshop led by David Baker, UCLA Writers Extension Program, WWLA, Tupelo Press Truchas Poetry Workshop, Poets on the Coast, and Mountain Writers. A Michigan native, Merna has subsequently lived six U.S. states and traveled to five continents. She now calls Portland, OR home.
