Merna Dyer Skinner is a poet, photographer, and communications consultant, helping people improve how they speak, write and respond to the media.Her business articles have appeared in national business and consumer publications. She is the President and Founder of Satori Communications, Inc.
Her chapbook, A Brief History of Two Aprons, was published in 2016 by Finishing Line Press. Forthcoming in 2021, her poems will appear in the Front Porch Review, and the anthology From Pandemic to Protest, published by The Poetry Box. Her poems have also appeared in these print journals: MiOPeasias, Star 82 Review, Mojave River Review, Silver Birch Press, Squaw Valley Review, the Museum, of Northwest Art and in the anthology, Pocket Poems, published byStar 82 Review.
Merna earned an MA in Communication Studies from Emerson College and is an alum of The Writers Community, Kenyon Review Workshop led by David Baker, UCLA Writers Extension Program, WWLA, Tupelo Press Truchas Poetry Workshop, Poets on the Coast, and Mountain Writers. A Michigan native, Merna has subsequently lived six U.S. states and traveled to five continents. She now calls Portland, OR home.
