ABOUT ME

Merna Dyer Skinner is a poet, photographer, and communications consultant, helping people improve how they speak, write and respond to the media. Her business articles have appeared in national business and consumer publications. She is the President and Founder of Satori Communications, Inc.

 

Her chapbook, A Brief History of Two Aprons, was published by Finishing Line Press (2016). Merna's poetry appears in numerous print and online publications. 

She is currently working on an anthology, a cento project, and her first full length manuscript

Merna earned an MA in Communication Studies from Emerson College and is an alum of The Writers Community, Kenyon Review Workshop led by David Baker, UCLA Writers Extension Program, Writing Workshops of LA, Tupelo Press Truchas Poetry Workshop, Poets on the Coast, and Mountain Writers. She's the proud mother of two creative sons who work in the music and film industries, and will soon add "grandmother" to her list of titles. A Michigan native, Merna has lived six U.S. states and traveled to six continents. She now calls Portland, OR home.
